Drowning My Sorrows With Food

The Small Place and I don’t have the best of relationships.
In fact, we usually hate each other.
(Which is why I still cannot believe that we live here now.)

I tried. Really and truly; I.Tried.
And I’ll continue to try… But first, can I complain a little?

While I am enjoying going to school full time and am more than pleased with the general direction that life for me and mine is turning, I am not particularly enjoying our area of residence. Said shortly and rather bluntly; I am NOT a small-town person. I think that maybe, in time, if forced, I could get used to living anywhere… But in this period of limbo where we don’t know how long we will be here, I am having a rough-go of making the best of it.
Plus, I have no friends here.
And I miss all the friends I left behind.
Which makes having no friends here that much worse.

Anyway… We are in the Small Place and are not going anywhere until at least Summer so I am trying my best to make the best of it. Here are a few pics of how I am indeed making the best of it:

Making sopapillas definitely made me a happy lady!

This is Chicken Bryan. Grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, all covered in a lemon butter sauce equals YUMMO.

And what are my kids doing to make the best of things?

I’d say they, at least, are doing a-o-k.
