An Update With Lots Of Gaps
Holy Shamoly.
I’ve been gone so long that I’ve almost forgotten how to work this thing.
My absence from the internet has not been limited to my blog.
People, I hardly even look at my computer anymore. Considering how much I enjoy ranting and raving and writing, and designing new looks for my site, I am personally astonished for my current disdain of the internet. Case in point; I haven’t checked my email in about three weeks. I had 913 emails in one of my email accounts when I checked a few days ago. So what did I do? Oh, no no no no. I did not read them. Nope. I did the “Select all and DELETE” maneuver. There is no way I would go through that nightmare. I would just as soon jab a spoon in my eye.
Hmmm…. An update.
I had a FAB time in New York. When I get around to it, I will post some pictures. In the mean time, be jealous of The Pink Shoe. Yep. I met Marcia! In person! And she is GREAT! We had brunch at a great place called the Popover Cafe and then shopped for SIX hours in the upper west side of Manhattan. Loved it. So fun. It’s probably a good thing we don’t live close because I have found myself a formidable shopping partner! And since I’m a slacker and haven’t bothered to take the pictures off of my camera yet, check out the purse that we both got!!! Oh Marcia. What I would give to be neighbors. In the City, that is….
The only bad thing I have to say about my trip is that I got sick the last day I was there. And when I got home I continued to be sick for THREE (close to FOUR) weeks! Stupid bloody flu. It was absolutely horrible. And don’t even get me started on Thanksgiving.
Okay, okay. I will say this, and only this. A certain person that shall remain NAMELESS put COFFEE into the STUFFING. I just KNOW that some of you are going to tell me that you’ve heard of that before. But me? Umyeah. I’m pretty sure that coffee belongs nowhere NEAR stuffing. Call me crazy, but I get the heebs just thinking about that monstrosity.
So, I finally got over that train wreck of a flu at the end of last week. WAHOO! Life is good again! I can move, I can sit, I can be a REAL live person again!!!
Little did I know that my jubilation would last only so long.
On Sunday Tyson, Simon, Helene, Sherrie and Neal, and I went up to the “mountains” (read: a place with big trees) to cut down our Christmas trees. The place we went to was beautiful, the kids had a blast, and we got an eight foot tree for THIRTY BUCKS. On Monday morning I woke up with a scratchy throat and watery eyes. Great. It did not take long for my head to fill up with snot and for my nose to start running like a hose. I now sound like a man and have not slept well in days. No cold medicine can seem to touch my symptoms so now I am resigned to have this cold for the next, I don’t know, FOREVER. My immune system is a joke. Every time I turn around, I am sick with something. And I am SICK of it.
Anyway….
Hopefully (and I know I’ve said this before…) I will learn to use this computer again without hating it. I really miss the community of blog friends that I had. I don’t blame anyone who has de-blogrolled me because I know I’m a blog slacker. I’ll be back more often when the time is right…. Maybe 2008 will bring better things for me and mine.
