Blisters, Hair, And Broken Blood Vessels
I hate crutches.
HATE.them.
I know I said that there would be no more foot complaining…. but I just can’t help myself.
I’m pretty unhappy and it’s not really getting any better.
Holly asked me the other day if I had gotten a rash under my arms from the crutches.
Ummmm… No. But I have broken a buch of blood vessels in that area. And it looks oh so pretty.
Have I told you about how I can’t shave my leg? You know… the leg that my broken foot is attatched to? Yeah. That leg looks super duper sexy as well. Oh, the hair. The PRICKLY hair.
Tyson took me to see Talladega Nights on Saturday night with some friends and although it was one of the funniest movies I think I have EVER seen, I still managed to wake up on Sunday feeling down and out.
Before you click out I have some great advice for you.
Never wear a flip-flop when you are forced to hop around on crutches.
Because you WILL get a blister between your toes.
Trust me.
Oh WAIT!
Just one thing about this movie…..
There is cougar.
And the cougar’s name is Karen.
So.Damn.Funny.

I’m feeling for you with the crutches thing, Kelly, and hoping your arms get used to the crutches soon.
Technically you weren’t complaining about your broken foot…you were complaining about your armpit, your hairy leg and the area between your toes. ;P
If you put together all the different times I’ve been on crutches, it amounts to about 3 years of my life spent on crutches, and I’ve learned here is a silver lining to being on crutches. . . it really tones your arms!!!
Sheesh girl, don’t you got enough going on in life! Now you gotta go and break your leg! OUCH.
Glad your still getting out to enjoy things even though you are in crutches. Milk it as much as you can
kelly…so sorry you weren’t feeling well on sunday, but i must say glad to have gone to that movie, it’s was pretty stinkin funny.
Sorry you’re still feeling down. Hang in there. At least the movie gave you a reason to laugh!
After my knee surgeries, I borrowed my mother’s electric razor to get rid of the stubble around my bandages. I just couldn’t stand it.
I understand about the prickly hair thing. I could not shave my left leg after my knee surgery for a little while and it was NOT pretty. But, hey, at least we had/have an excuse!
Take care of yourself.
Ohhh poor girl. I wish there was something enlightening I could say. But I’m sleep deprived and can just say… you poor girl and wish you a big cyber hug. I’m glad Tyson is trying to make you smile!!!!
Man, Nello — I’m outta the loop. I just had to go back and read all the posts I’ve missed this last month. What a month you’ve had! First, SO SOLLY about your foot — that s.u.c.k.s, sucks. I’ve never broken anything, other than toe (touch wood) and THAT hurt like a sonofagun. I can’t imagine the pain of a larger broken bone.
Curiously, I get blisters between my toes when I hike in flip-flops; I guess they are not the all-purpose footgear they promise to be. Dang them.
Crutches. Poo.
(I especially love your new blog design. ‘Tis funny.)
Maybe you can try those moon-walking boots that they sell at teh mall? You could bounce around.
Hop~’~Hop’~Bounce”~ Hop?
That really sucks. It’s sad but if I broke my foot, I seriously doubt that my husband would take over the “do everything” job. He’d probably ask if they could put me in a walking cast.
I can’t wait to see ‘Nights’. And sorry about the rash..(it’ll come).
I second the getting toned part. It’s one of the hidden (very hidden) advantages of crutches. Oh, and beware if the rubber end tips of your crutches get wet. They slip really easily then, and that is just not a pretty sight. So sorry about your foot, your armpits, and your blister.
sorry about your foot. although i must add that talladega nights was hillarious. the part where he sticks the knife in his leg i was rolling! way too funny.
Poor thing, its no fun to be miserable (is that an obvious statement or what). BTW lovin the redesign.
