Give Me A Book, I’ll Give You A Review
So. Who really needs a book that is about how to read to your kids?
YOU DO, I DO, WE ALL DO!!

Reading with Babies, Toddlers and Twos is a GREAT book to have when you have little kiddlins trotting around in your life.
When I first started thumbing through the book I basically was of the opinion that I didn’t need this type of book. I mean really. How hard is it to read to your kids? As I thought about how reading to my kids comes very easily to me I realized that finding books that they enjoy is a huge challenge for me. It was at that thought that I decided to give the book a chance.
If there was only one reason to buy this book (There are more reasons than one, I promise!) then it would be the booklists.
Yes!!! Booklists!!
Just what I wanted! Suggestions!
Now, before you jump all over me about how I shouldn’t take someone else’s word on what books are good because it is all really subjective, let me tell you that Reading with Babies, Toddlers and Twos gives all sorts of reasons about what makes a good children’s book, how to make children’s books even better by how you read them, and also WHY your kids will be sure to love them.
I wish I had this book when I was pregnant with Simon because it was then that I fully engrossed myself with all books regarding the “how to” of babies. Trust me. I ate all that baby stuff up… and then some. Mine is a classic case of, “I wish I would have known then what I know now”. Go ahead and ask me how many books that I have bought my kids that just SIT on their bookshelf. Go ahead. I dare you. I would guess that about 65% of the books we have for our kids go relatively un-touched. Nice.
After I went through this book I was so inspired that I took my family to the neighborhood Barnes & Noble. I am happy to report that instead of looking at the kid’s book section for hours I was able to pick out two books within fifteen minutes and left feeling very confident that these books would win two thumbs up from my mini-critics.
I was right.
“Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear” is Simon’s new favorite. He already recites the whole book.
“That’s Not My Car” is Helene’s new favorite. Not only can she recite the main verse of the book, she has picked up some new adjectives.
Reading with Babies, Toddlers and Twos is a great book for anyone who ever wants to read to a child or wants to buy a book for a child. Now that I am done reading the book I am actively pushing it in Tyson’s face.
Hey. We are in this kid thing together.
I don’t want to be the only expert on all things regarding kids and books.
