Vicodin Fog

I guess I should report to the masses.

I am okay. I guess.
My head no longer feels like it is about to explode and that is a good thing.
The bad thing is my Doctor is a bona fide IDIOT and I am now in the process of changing my health care provider. Apparently the idiot doesn’t want to listen to me and all of my head exploding, vision impaired, have been like this for two and a half days stories. So now I have a bottle full of Vicodin to mask the pain that I am in because my “Doctor” doesn’t want to take the time to see if there is something ELSE wrong with me. (We ALL know that I have a lot wrong with me… but I am talking about something new.)

I was in bed for about five days… Give or take a few hours here and there when I could actually get my butt up and walk around for a while. My heating pad and I formed an even stronger bond than we had before. And given that I have slept with a heating pad for over four years now, THAT is a pretty amazing feat.
While I’ve been bed-ridden a few interesting things happened to me. I will only share one with you though. Alright…. Wait for it….

I have grown to love and crave JujyFruits.
????????????????
I don’t know how, why, or WHAT this is about but I cannot get enough of them. And since I love to reveal shameful things about myself to the internet, let me give you just another little gem. (Because apparently I didn’t learn my lesson when I told you I read Golf for Women Magazine or that I like to buy Lionel Richie songs on iTunes.)
I came this.close. to taking the JujyFruit box up on its TShirt offer.

Sick, demented… I know.
But that is how much I love JujyFruits right now.
Or maybe this could be attributed to the Vicodin fog….

Oh Kelly! I am so sorry you are in so much pain! I used to eat Vicodin like it was candy when I was under the influence of “addiction” and I can say, that it gave me the most uncontrollable cravings for super sugary sweets. So there…Juji Fruit mystery solved!

:)

I am praying for your health to return!

I’m so sorry you have been feeling so bad, and that your doctor did not take the time to try to figure out what’s really wrong. Jujyfruits…hey, at least you’ve been able to enjoy something out of this! lol Hope you are feeling 100% soon.

I’ve decided that NO doctor can be trusted. *sigh* It’s an awful thing. Vicodin is great, but watch out for the withdrawals…in case your “doctor” didn’t bother to tell you about it.

Hope you’re ALL better soon!!!

((((hugs))))

wasn’t there a seinfeld where Elaine goes on a date, but the guy doesn’t show up because he was in a car accident, and she buys Jujy Fruit before going to the hospital?

I’m so glad you’re not dead, but I’m sad you’re in pain. Get better soon!

i hope you are improving — at LEAST you’ve got something to mask the pain until you find someone to actually help, right? ugh. sometimes i really truly believe that doctors are idiots. my FIL is a doctor, and he’s not an idiot, but you know what i mean. ARGH!!! i’m constantly surprised by how little they can do to help. you’re in my prayers.

There are still some doctors around who take the time to do their job the right way. Ask everyone you can whether they know of one. It’s worth the effort. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I am so glad to hear that you are filling better. That really sucks about the doctor though. I hope you are able to find someone that works for you, not against you.

Ah, the Jujyfruit. I’ve never even seen a box, but it always cracks me up because of the Seinfeld episode. Elaine couldn’t even talk with them in her mouth. Maybe you are having that problem too?

Hope you are feeling well soon. And can find a better doctor!

Enjoy your Jujyfruits until you come out of your fog and remember that you don’t really like them THAT much… lol!
Hope you find a physician who listens to you. It’s hard to find a good one these days.
Feel better soon!

OH my! Enjoy the fog but I so hear you on doctors. When I was going through all of my crap NO ONE LISTENED until I went to a homeopathic (sp?) doc who actually helped me. I did a detox sort of diet for a month and I have only had two migraines ever since. That was a year ago. I was getting them every other week or more.

Hugs!

Kel, just when i think you have found the limits to which a perfectly great person can be punished by the universe, i read this!

i’m sorry you’re feeling so crappy. what is your “doctor”,s name, address, height and hair color – please? next time i’m in town, i will need to track him down. grr.

Kelly! I’m glad you resisted. UNLESS you were considering wearing it to Blogher and then: YES!

I hope this gets resolved Kel. I feel so badly for you – you deserve to be feeling great and enjoying your kids.

In the meantime, a big shout out to Vicodin!

o.k. seems I have written this about 20 times in the last few months, so if you have read it, sorry…

Your doctor works FOR *you*, i.e. you pay for his/her huge ring, the family pool, and for his kid’s private school. You CAN fire him/her at anytime.

Do not feel intimidated by ANY ONE when you are feeling the way you do. I have FMS. I *had* migraines. I had a bunch of crap that many doctors felt was “insanity” (um, no that would be a bleeding ulcer), “Mormon Mother Syndrome” (yup, kidney stones!), and “Severe Depression” (this was a ruptured apendix). Some doctors are great, others, well they make their minds up before they even see you.

You must be your own advocate! If you *feel* dr. is a jerk, chances are your feelings are correct. Do not waste time, do not collect $200., Do not pass go, FIRE HIS/HER BUTT AND GET A NEW ONE!

I say HOORAY!

I am glad that you are well enoug hto write, I MISSED your blog very much. Now grab some jujus and get better!
