Don’t You DARE Bag On Me.

I usually do not, under any circumstances, discuss what music I listen to.

I have just always felt real personal about my music taste because whenever you tell someone what you like, you know you’re gonna get some crap for it.

“I can’t believe you like so and so.”
“His music is total crap.”
“Those lyrics are so dumb.”
“That is such chick music.”
“You are so mainstream.”
BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I am going to break my own rules…. Big time.
I’m going to tell the Internets all about my music.
You should feel privileged, by the way….

The Personal Soundtrack Meme (Tagged by the one and only Queen Beth!)

1. First song you remember hearing on the radio as a child
Thanks to my Mother I was subjected constantly to:
“The Gambler” by Kenny Rogers

2 .First album you remember listening to as a child
Once again, courtesy of Mom, was this classic:
“Christmas Portrait” by the Carpenters

3. Album that takes you back to junior high
“Girl You Know It’s True” by Milli Vanilli
Blame It On The Rain was the fav for sure.
Go ahead… Sing it in your head. You know you want to.

3. Most played album in high school
Hmmm. Tough one. There were just so many…
I’m gonna say “Core” by Stone Temple Pilots.

4. Favorite album in college
Sadly, at this point in my life I went through a whole country music phase.
(I lived in AZ… It happens.)
So I am going to have to confess to “Wide Open Spaces” by the Dixie Chicks.

5. Favorite albums to road trip with
“Fizzy Fuzzy Big & Buzzy” by The Refreshments
“Their Greatest Hits (1971-1975)” by The Eagles
“Legend” by Bob Marley… but only in the summer time ,or when I want it to be summer time and it isn’t. (which is basically all the time.)
“Ultimate Collection” by Neil Diamond
Any of the good Elton John songs (hopefully you know all about his bad ones…)

6. Best relationship angst album or any other albums worthy of mention
“Greatest Hits 1982-1989″ by Chicago
“Greatest Hits” by Air Supply
*Both of these albums were played non-stop during my year long first ever crush on Matt Vigil my freshman year of high school. (he.was.so.hot.)*

7. Your personal soundtrack today includes
Lots of songs and no albums because of my “Nelly’s Favs” playlist on my iPod.
A sampling for you:
“Moon River” by Andy Williams
“Speed of Sound” by Coldplay
“Peaceful Easy Feeling” by The Eagles
“Band of Gold” by Freda Payne
“Killing Me Softly” by The Fugees
“Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
“Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman

8.Song that reminds you of what it was like to feel cool
“Self Esteem” by The Offspring

9. So if this is your personal soundtrack, what’s the plot of the movie in 50 words or less
The life and times of a very confused kid who grows up to be a very confused woman.
Good luck to her.

Who do I hope does this Meme?
Every single last one of you who read this post.
Come on.
I did it.
Now you need to.
Go ahead…. Get on with it.

Random Friday

Just a few random thoughts for you…
Actually, for me.
I need to get these thoughts out of my friggin’ brain so I can move on with life.

One.
Why do people have chain link fences?
They are ugly, expensive, and… well, ugly. And don’t they drive down property value? I thought I heard that while house hunting from my realtor.

Two.
I am pretty sure I am a 27 year old living inside a 90 year old’s body.
I’m broken down. From the outside it’s all okay… I look my age and all that. It’s the inside that is the problem. Inside this stupid body of mine is a whole lotta mess that I can’t even begin to explain.

Three.
I am going home to a whole bunch of rain and storms. Bad ones from what I am reading. Not excited about this. Rain plus kids equals not a lot of fun.

Four.
I think I have forgotten what my house feels like to live in. I feel like I’ve been gone for years… and yet I’ve only been gone for like 5 days.

Five.
Sadly, I am the type of person who likes to buy things to make themselves happy. I know in my head that material things will never make me really happy, but yet I do it anyway. I hate this about myself. Hate.It. (I am a relatively happy person by the way…. But when I get all phhlllllwwwwwppp…. That is when I like to shop.)

Well. That’s it.
And guess what?
I don’t feel all that better.

Maybe I need my steroid fix.

Holiday Fat

I feel the fat starting to attatch itself to my body.
I mean it.
I really feel it starting to cling to my innards.

That’s a bad thing…
Isn’t it?

Just one more reason for me to be glad the Holidays are almost over.

I Have An Addictive Personality

First of all.
Let me say that I really have the best family. Both sides.
Yes. I mean it. As dysfunctional as we all are… (And really, people. You have no idea…) these people are the most giving and loving people ever.
I am so thankful that my kids are so fortunate in famiy.

I know… Blah blah blah Nello. Get on with it already.

I’m not gonna go on and on here about what my kids got for the holidays or what I got cuz I’m really not into that kind of thing.
However, I would be remis if I did not pass along a gift that I recieved from my New York BIL.

He gave me the gift of Su Doku.
Have you heard of this?
When you click on that link up there you are going to think…. “What the?!? Numbers… blank spaces…. Logic? What is freakin’ Nelly smokin’?”

I’m tellin’ you. This is the best thing ever. You don’t even have to be smart to play. Serioulsy.
This is the most addicting thing that I have come across since blogging.

Thanks BIL. I really did need just one more thing to feed my addictive personalitly.
You’re the best!

Kicked Out.

Well. Merry the day after Christmas.
I was flying to Albcrack yesterday and that is why I was M.I.A.
Now I’m getting kicked out of the Holidailies for sure.
Oh well.

Upon arrival to our final destination the following was heard:

“On behalf of the flight crew we would like to wish you all a very Happy Chaunakuh, a Merry Christmas, a Happy Kwanza, and a very Happy Holiday season.”

Immediately I say, “Uhhhh…. We celebrate Festivus. What the crap?”
Ty says very seriously, “I was just about to say that. I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you’re gonna hear about it!
